Located in the heart of the Arts District (1 block from the Biscuit Lofts) in Downtown Los Angeles, Uptown Pup provides a holistic, convenient location for safe pup play, overnight boarding, elite dog walking service, grooming, and specialty high end pup products. Uptown Pup uses only holistic products. All cleaning materials, food and other specialty items are all natural with high quality ingredients. Absolutely no fillers and unnecessary chemicals are used.

Owner Jason Bornstein takes great pride in family owned local businesses, as well as his strong customer service backgrounds and love for dogs. He and his staff understand the importance of having a pet boarding facility that is trustworthy and provides a loving and safe environment.

Services

Daycare

It is a proven fact that your pup can benefit both physically and mentally from socializing and playing with other pups. Exercise and social interaction will lead to a healthier, happier and well-balanced Uptown Pup. Our supervised Pup Daycare is an excellent alternative to dog parks because we are in closer proximity than most dog parks and you can rest assured that your pup will be in a loving, safe and controlled environment. Fresh water is available at all times and cots are available around the perimeter of the designated play area to rest.

Inside our 7100 square foot facility, our indoor pup play area is 3,000 square feet with three designated play areas and specialized rubber flooring to provide cushioning for your pup’s paws and a holistic, sanitary environment.

Our Pup Daycare staff is specifically trained in body language, supervised group play and Canine CPR certification. It is our number one goal to maintain a safe and peaceful atmosphere using positive redirection and and civilized behavior methods.

Reservations are not needed for Pup Daycare and we accept payment for services at time of drop off.

POLICIES:

All pups must be on a quick leash when entering the facility to ensure safety for all (nametag recommended).

Pup owners need to fill out an application.

All pups must be at least five (5) months of age.

All pups must have current vaccination records. Pup owners must submit written proof that their pup(s) received the Bordatella vaccine within the last six (6) months, DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus) within the last year and Rabies within the last year (or three depending on your vet). Please allow a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours to pass between giving your pup these shots and using our services.  You can also ask your veterinarian’s office to fax this to us prior to attending an intro evaluation for Pup Daycare or Boarding at Uptown Pup.

All pups must be in good health and free of any contagious illnesses. If your pup has any symptoms including but not limited to sneezing, wheezing, coughing, vomiting, lethargy, diarrhea, runny eyes or nose, please wait to board with us until your pup is healthy.  We are happy to provide veterinarian references who board ill pets.

Pups must be on some type of flea and tick preventative medication. Pups with flea or tick problems will be bathed by one of our groomers and treated at the owner’s expense.

Dogs over 6 months of age must be fixed (neutered or spayed).

All pups must undergo a short, free 30 minute Evaluation (See Details Below).

All pups will be grouped appropriately with other pups similar in size, age and temperament.

PRICING:

$8/Hour: 1-4 hours of playtime

$25/Half Day Rate: Special fixed rate for a 5 Hour or under stay

$35/Full Day Rate: Over 5 hours, any time we are open for business

Boarding

At Uptown Pup, we understand the importance of leaving your pup in the best care to ensure peace of mind while you are away. We treat every pup like family, and our main goal is to provide a sense of comfort for you and your dog. Our custom built boarding suites are clean and comfortable. They feature tempered glass doors, comfy cots and special designed food & water systems to avoid spillage. Cleanliness and safety are our number one priority. We encourage you to stop by and tour the facility.

RESERVATIONS:

• Reservations are required for all boarding stays. A 50% deposit is required upon booking for all boarding stays that include a holiday. Cancellations or changes to a holiday reservation are non-refundable if the reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival time. Waiting lists are common throughout all major holidays, so we encourage booking early.

CHECK IN/OUT:

• You may check in at anytime.
• There is a check-out time of 12:00pm Monday-Saturday and 1:00pm on Sunday. You may pick up your pup anytime during our business day, however pup owners will incur a full daycare charge of $35.00 if picked up after these check-out times. Pups that are scheduled to be picked up, but remain in the building after closing hours, will be charged for overnight boarding and fed appropriately.
• Late night check-outs may be arranged after close of business until 10pm, but must be prearranged and are by appointment only. Payment must be made in full at the time of check-out.

RATES:

• Standard pup Suite (4' x 6'): $55 / night
• Premier pup Suite (6' x 6'): $65 / night
• Medication: $2 - $5 per administration
• House Food: $5 per meal (no charge if feeding client's own food)
• Boarding guests staying for a minimum of 5 nights receive a free bath or brush out (a $25-$45 value). Large and giant breeds, dogs with excessive shedding and/or matting will be subject to an additional cost.

Each additional pet receives 20% off for boarding (does not include the already reduced rate for daycare while boarding)
Boarding guests staying for over 7 consecutive nights receive 10% off the usual boarding rate; for stays over 14 consecutive nights, a 20% discount off the usual boarding rate is extended.

CANCELLATIONS & PAYMENT

Deposits may be required to secure a board reservation. Deposits are non-refundable if the reservation is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival time. We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover (please note there is a $25 returned check fee). Payment must be made in full at the time of checkout.

Grooming

Uptown Pup has professional groomers who bathe and upkeep your pup with the highest care. We make individual appointments so our groomers can take their time and provide gentle, personalized attention. We use all-natural shampoos and conditioners that are chemical free. Baths include ear cleaning, nail clipping and anal gland expression.

PRICING:

• Baths: $31* and up
• Haircut: $35* and up
• Entire package: $5 discount

*Prices above are for the smallest, shortest haired pups. Prices go up. Price for your pup will depend on the size and temperament, as well as the length and state of your pup’s hair. De-matting service adds $5 every 15 minutes.

REQUIRMENTS:

In order to be groomed at Uptown Pup, you must fulfill the following requirements:

• Pup owners need to fill out a short form
• Pups must have current records of the following vaccinations or titer tests showing that they have antibodies againstthe diseases they protect against: DDHLP, Bordatella, and Rabies (Rabies after 4 months old)

Dog Walking

At Uptown Pup, we are advocates for pup physical activity and exercise. We provide an elite dog walking service from leashed walks or jogs with one of our trained staff members.

All rates subject to change depending on temperament of pup, please call for details.

Our hours are Monday- Friday 7am-9pm and Saturday - Sunday 9am-5pm
